GliSODin, the Greatest Lion Tamer that Puts the Breaks on the Ageing Process

Once upon a time (because that’s how all good stories begin), there was a ferocious lion named Oxide. He was such a powerful and rebellious lion that he was known all over the land as Super Oxide, the Free Radical!

Superoxide was feared by all because of his unusual power; if he were to bite, his victim would at once become as savage and ferocious as himself.

Superoxide became part of a travelling circus where he would perform in the ring of the Big Top. The huge tent was filled with rows and rows of tiered seats reaching up to the tent roof at the back.

Security Guards were posted at each of the entrances in the tent walls. The people in the tent had always felt safe knowing that the guards were there to protect them (or so they thought!).

Visitors to the circus were filled with both excitement and fear in anticipation of what they might see in the ring. Only the brave and heroic French lion tamer, Monsieur GliSODin could control Superoxide.

Cracking his whip in the air, Monsieur GliSODin was all powerful! Superoxide was like a docile kitten under his spell.

Everyone knew that if Superoxide managed to outsmart the tamer, he would escape, pouncing on the people in the front row and then with his powerful stride, lunging from one row to the other, savaging anyone in his path!

Worst of all, everyone he bit would become as savage as he, so that before long the entire tent would be in a frenzy, completely out of control.

Seats would collapse as the terrified crowd tried to get out. The Security Guards at the tent exits would do their best but would be powerless against such chaos. They might as well have just been sleeping!

But everyone knew too that Monsieur GliSODin, the most respected lion tamer in the land, would never, never, never let this happen.

And so they would all live happily ever after (because that’s how all good stories end!).

The Cast...

The Lion - Superoxide

The Tamer - GliSODin

The tent - A human cell

The Security Guards - Antioxidant vitamins like vitamin E

And now to the serious stuff

GliSODin is a revolutionary new Antioxidant supplement which closely mimics the way your body defends itself against free radicals.

Just like the Lion Tamer, GliSODin keeps free radicals such as Superoxide under control.

So, let's talk about Free Radicals

Free radicals are unstable chemicals continuously produced by every cell in our bodies as part of normal living. Just eating and breathing creates free radicals!

As well as the free radicals we make ourselves, radiation and harmful environmental chemicals are other sources.

Even though free radicals are normal, when they get out of control, they cause damage - lots of damage - to delicate cell structures. (Just like the lion lunging out into the circus crowd!)

Chain reactions

Worse still, free radicals set up chain reactions, bouncing from one molecule to another in our cells, creating more free radicals as they do (remember how the people who got bitten by the lion also became savage and ferocious).

If uncontrolled, such chain reactions are likely to damage our precious DNA as well as various cells and tissues.

Fortunately for us, nature has cleverly put in place systems to keep these free radicals under control...

First level of Antioxidant defence

Our body's cells produce antioxidant enzymes, which stop the free radical chain reactions 'dead in their tracks'.

These enzymes are like the Lion Tamer standing in the circus ring beside the lion. These are our Primary Antioxidants.

The most significant of these is an enzyme called Superoxide Dismutase or S.O.D. for short.

Second level of Antioxidant defence

Our backup (secondary) antioxidants are found in the foods we eat. The Secondary Antioxidants are like the Security Guards who stand around the perimeter of the circus tent. By the time the guard can act however, chaos has already erupted!

Everything is definitely much safer when the tamer is cracking that whip. And so it is with antioxidants - Primary Antioxidants need to stay in control right at the centre of the action.

Secondary Antioxidants like Vitamin E for example, are absolutely essential but on their own, they just aren't in the right place at the right time.

Which foods contain Secondary Antioxidants?

Nature has cleverly filled our food supply with antioxidants.

Fruits and vegetables as well as whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds are our best sources.

Names like Vitamin C and Vitamin E will be familiar, but there are also many thousands more food chemicals (called phytochemicals) which provide powerful antioxidant reserves. (This is why it is wise to consume at least 7 serves of fruit and vegetables daily).

So, where does GliSODin fit into the story?

Scientists in France have developed GliSODin as the first available Primary Antioxidant supplement.

GliSODin is like the Lion Tamer standing in the circus ring, staring down that lion!

As we get older, we lose our ability to efficiently produce Antioxidant enzymes like SOD and by a cruel twist of nature, ageing sees us producing even more free radicals! (You may have heard of the Free Radical theory of ageing).

GliSODin supports our own ability to control free radicals by increasing the activity of our three Primary Antioxidant enzymes, SOD, Catalase, and Glutathione peroxidase.

What is GliSODin made from?

A special strain of melon contains very high levels of the SOD enzyme but when you eat the fresh melon, your digestive system breaks down the SOD making it useless as an antioxidant.

GliSODin has been produced by a special process using small amounts of gliadin from wheat to protect the SOD. In this way, GliSODin adds to your body's reserves of SOD.

What if I am intolerant to gluten?

One capsule of GliSODin contains just 7.9mg of gliadin. One slice of bread contains between 2000mg and 3000mg of gliadin.

Another way to put it, there is less gluten than the amount in one bread crumb.

So it is apparent that only the most sensitive individuals (such as those with Coeliac Disease) are likely to react to the gluten in GliSODin.

What conditions may benefit from taking GliSODin?

Basically, all conditions. Even if you don't have a major health complaint but just want to stay healthy and fight the ageing process, GliSODin can help.

However, there has been research in certain areas of disease where GliSODin may play a particularly important role. These include:

  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • Cancer
  • Heart Disease
  • Immune dysfunction
  • Neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, ADHD, Autism, chronic fatigue syndrome, and depression

Buyer beware! There are ineffective forms of SOD out there...

Research shows that SOD is a very important part of our cell defence, and it is highly beneficial for us to incorporate it into our dietary regime.

However, there is one problem - the use of SOD as a dietary supplement is usually limited because of its inability to be completely absorbed.

When SOD is taken orally, it is mostly broken down in the gastrointestinal tract and it therefore loses its biological activity - you end up getting little to no benefit!

The only way to get around this is to integrate SOD with a protective carrier to preserve it as it passes through the gut and delivers it into the small intestines in its bioactive form.

After decades of research, a team of European scientists finally developed a unique, orally effective form of SOD called GliSODin with an exclusive delivery system that combines the carrier Gliadin with a 100% vegetarian form of SOD.

GliSODin is the ONLY oral SOD supplement that does not become denatured by the time it reaches the cells of the intestine for absorption.
