Shoulder Injuries
The Shoulder – The Most Movable and Complex Joint
The shoulder joint is most complicated joint with the greatest range of motion, and perhaps the joint most vulnerable to injury.
It is also unstable because the ball of the upper arm is larger than the shoulder socket that holds it.
There are many daily activities that use the shoulder muscles: lifting groceries, any type of manual labor, household chores, handling children, etc. It is therefore critical that these muscles are able to provide adequate stability while maintaining full mobility, and prevent shoulder injury.
How to Prevent and Treat Shoulder Injuries
The shoulder is involved in virtually all upper body movements.
One of the primary causes of shoulder problems is simply overuse, but damage can also be done by a single incident or momentary stress.
If you keep ignoring the pain and fatigue, the damage is made worse and eventually leads to inflammation and more serious damage.
The sooner the correct treatment is begun, the sooner the pain can be alleviated and managed, and the chances of further problems are enormously reduced.

What Can Go Wrong With The Shoulder
Faced with a sudden stress the shoulder is not prepared to deal with, the ligaments and musculotendinous structures of the shoulder can stretch, tear or rupture.
It is possible that what may appear to be an injury resulting from a single incident of overstress may actually be the result, in part, of cumulative microtrauma in the injured area due to repeated overuse of which you were unaware.
